How credits work

One credit is about 5 seconds of finished render. Before a video starts, an estimate is held; when it finishes you pay for what ran and the rest is released.

What a video holds today

At standard quality, on this installation. Held up front; you pay what ran.

  • A failed render is free

Work that fails releases its hold, and a render that fails quality control returns its credits in full.

  • Local models are not charged

A script, voice or picture made by a local model or a template costs nothing. The render itself is charged, at about 5 seconds of video per credit.

  • Fix one scene, pay for one scene

Redraw a scene or re-record its line and you pay for that scene and the re-encode.

  • Credits never expire

Unused credits stay on your workspace for as long as the account is open.

  • An append-only ledger

Every hold, charge and release is written as its own row and never edited, so a balance can always be explained.

  • Invite a friend

They get 60 extra credits once they confirm their email. You get 60 once they confirm their email and finish their first video, up to 1500 in all. Credits earned this way are spent on a paid plan. Your link is in Settings.

Questions

About money

All questions
Do I need a card to start?

No. A new workspace makes one free test video of up to 30 seconds, with the 7 credits it is given. More videos, and longer ones, come with a plan.

How do credits work?

An estimate is held before a video starts. When it finishes you pay for what ran, and the rest is released. A 45-second video holds about 11 credits today.

How credits work
Do credits expire?

No. Unused credits stay on your workspace for as long as the account is open.

What if a render fails?

It costs nothing. Work that fails releases its hold, and a render that fails quality control returns its credits in full.

Is every stage charged?

No. A script, voice or picture made by a local model or a template is not charged. The render itself always is, at about 5 seconds of video per credit.

How do I cancel or get a refund?

Cancel from the billing page at any time: the next renewal stops and credits already granted stay. You may withdraw from a purchase within 14 days with Withdraw from contract here on the billing page, or by writing to us. Because checkout asks you to start the plan as soon as you pay, we refund what you paid less the value of the plan’s credits already used, and once all of them have been used the plan has been provided in full and can no longer be withdrawn from.

Terms, section 9
Can I change plan later?

Yes. Changing plan happens in Stripe’s billing portal, which prorates the difference.
